Pop-up vaccine clinic coming to Amherstburg Friday

COVID-19 vaccine shots will be available this week in Amherstburg.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will operate a pop-up vaccination clinic on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Libro Centre.

The clinic will take place in the centre's community room, where health unit staff will be on hand to deliver first and second doses of the vaccine, as well as booster shots.

"We are thrilled to assist the health unit by hosting this pop-up clinic in Amherstburg," said Mayor Aldo DiCarlo in a media release. "The Libro Centre is an accessible location with ample parking and space. The success of Amherstburg's mass vaccination clinic last year was a testament to the need and appreciation for this service in the community. We hope residents do their part and get vaccinated."

Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, depending on availability.

No appointments are needed for this clinic, and it is free of charge. Participants will be required to physically distance themselves and wear a face covering.

Complete information on vaccination appointments across Windsor-Essex can be found at wevax.ca.
