Funds dedicated to support the Ojibway National Urban Park

Parks Canada has set aside funds to support the creation of the Ojibway National Urban Park.

For the upcoming fiscal year, $584,760 will go to the City of Windsor for the park assessment.

“It cannot be understated how important this funding is as the next step in the process of moving forward this vital project,” Windsor-West MP Brian Masse said. “I know the City of Windsor is as committed to this project as I am and I’m happy to see that this is moving ahead.”

The City of Windsor will be given this money to assess opportunities for enhanced access to urban green space in the city.

Masse is still advocating for the federal government to transfer the Ojibway Shores land from the port authority to Parks Canada to expand the urban park.
