Ciociaro Club elects first female president

For the first time in its 50 year history, the Ciociaro Club in Windsor has elected a woman to serve as its president.

Anna Vozza started her term on January 30.

The real estate broker was one of the youngest directors ever elected at the club and, over the past 24 years, has served as the correspondence secretary and vice-president.

"As the daughter of immigrants who left Italy to come to Canada for a better life for their family, I was always encouraged to focus on education, leadership, community, and to never let go of my roots," said Vozza. "I have put my heart and soul into the Ciociaro Club for the past 24 years. I look forward to working with our management team, staff, membership, and the Board of Directors to continue to build on our 50 years of success."

Vozza also said she is eager to engage with the next generation of club members.

Her other experiences include being the President of the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors and the former Director at Large of the Ontario Real Estate Association. She has also served on the board at Windsor Regional Hospital.

"She is also very active in her philanthropic endeavours with numerous charitable organizations in the area," said General Manager Dino Quattrociocchi. "Anna brings her passion for the community into everything she does."

The Ciociaro Club has over 1,800 members, descendants from the Ciociaria region of Italy.

The club is located on North Talbot Road in Oldcastle.
