The number of active high-risk COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex continues to decrease despite 360 new cases recorded over the weekend.
The active caseload is now 672, down from 728 on Friday.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit recorded three more COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend. A woman in her 60s and two men in their 70s passed away after testing positive.
Local hospitals are treating 72 COVID-19 positive patients.
At Windsor Regional Hospital, there are 61 patients admitted and about half of them have been admitted for treatment of other ailments. There are currently four patients in the ICU, all of them are fully vaccinated.
At Erie Shores Health Care nine COVID-19 positive patients have been admitted, three of them are primarily being treated for other ailments.
Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare has two COVID-19 positive patients in its care.
Throughout the province, there are 2,155 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
The health unit continues to monitor 62 active outbreaks within high-risk settings in the community. There are eight hospital units, 21 long-term care homes, 22 community facilities, and 11 workplaces experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks at this time.
