As the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit moves to a greater focus on mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics, it is announcing plans to close two of the mass clinics in the region.
The clinic on the campus of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will shut down on Thursday, February 24. Until then, the public can still get their first, second, and booster shots on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Grovedale House Community Centre clinic in Kingsville closes on March 5. Until then, it is open on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Changes are coming too for the mass clinic at Devonshire Mall. It is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but on Friday, March 4, it will transition to include a catch-up clinic for parents who need to update their child's other shots under the Immunization of School Pupils Act.
The Devonshire Mall clinic will be closed from March 5 to March 7 but reopen on Tuesday, March 8, with new hours of operation.
The new hours are Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
