Town of Essex names new Community Services Director

The Town of Essex has appointed Jake Morassut to the position of Director, Community Services.

The town advised that Morassut will be responsible for overseeing the planning and operations in all aspects of parks, facilities, recreation and culture, fire administration, and community events.

Morassut is currently a firefighter with Essex Fire & Rescue Services and recently served as Manager, Parks and Facilities in the town's Community Services Department.

"Jake is highly motivated and has extensive experience in the Community Services Department. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as Director, Community Services," said Doug Sweet, the Chief Administrative Officer of the town.

"He has demonstrated his ability to lead with success and we are excited for him to take on this new role," Sweet added.

Morassut’s appointment will be effective March 28, 2022.
