Tecumseh Town Council approves salary increase

Tecumseh Town Councillors approved a motion giving themselves a slight raise.

A report from the town's administration recommended an annual economic adjustment for 2022 of two per cent, effective January 1, for the management and non-union administrative staff wage grid.

During Tuesday's regular meeting, councillors voted for a two per cent wage increase for Mayor Gary McNamara, and non-unionized town staff.

Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti is receiving a 0.5 per cent salary increase, while town councillors will get a one per cent increase.

The motion was approved in accordance with the town's Compensation and Salary Administration Policy and the 2019 Council Salary Review.

The increases will not impact the current tax rate.
