Windsor Regional Hospital has launched an online engagement website to gather input on the new hospital design.
The site includes surveys on many different aspects of the hospital including emergency services, cancer care, and the birthing centre.
“I have never seen this level of public engagement at this early stage in hospital planning,” said Project Director Paul Landry, who has helped plan some of Canada’s largest new hospitals in the past decade. “The new hospital belongs to everyone and it’s exciting to see the entire community invited to give input and help guide decisions our planning teams are making as they work on its design and layout.”
The hospital will also be hosting a series of town hall meetings throughout March and April. During the town hall meetings, hospital leaders, planners, frontline staff, and patient representatives will provide an update on the work being done in each of the project areas.
It’s estimated this phase of the planning process will last around 14 to 16 months. If all goes according to plan, construction could begin in the summer of 2026.
