The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported 91 new high-risk COVID-19 cases, and no additional deaths on Friday.
There are now 252 known active cases in the community. Although, due to current testing eligibility, this does not represent the full burden on disease in the region.
There are currently 26 patients admitted to local hospitals who have tested positive for the virus. At Windsor Regional Hospital there are three people being treated in the ICU, two are unvaccinated and one is fully vaccinated.
The health unit is monitoring 10 known active outbreaks in the area. There are five long-term care homes and five community settings experiencing outbreaks.
To date, nearly 83 per cent of the eligible population have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine while only 53.8 per cent of residents 18 and older have had their booster.
