Kingsville man tops up for lottery win

A Kingsville man took a chance, and it paid off with just over $50,000 in winnings.

Jeremy Tiborcz bought an instant ticket and decided to "top up" the stakes, by putting down an extra dollar and activating Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG)'s Instant Top Up feature. It paid off a big dividend for Tiborcz, winning him a prize of $50,004.10.

Tiborcz recently collected his winning cheque via a virtual claim process as in-person claim appointments continue to be limited at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. He bought his winning ticket at a Mac's Convenience Store on Forest Glade Drive in Windsor.

Instant Top Up can be added to any eligible instant ticket purchase. The top prize is a jackpot that starts at $25,000 and grows based on the number of plays purchased across Ontario. It keeps growing until someone wins it.

When the ticket is purchased, the retailer scans the barcode and collects the extra looney to put the Instant Top Up feature on the lottery terminal screen. If the video shows three matching tiles, the player wins the corresponding prize. Bonus prizes are available if the "bonus" tile is displayed.
