Two more COVID-19 related deaths

COVID-19 has been linked to two more deaths in Windsor-Essex.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported a man in his 40s and a man in his 80s passed away after testing positive for the virus. There have been 587 deaths linked to the virus since the start of the pandemic.

The health unit also reported another 65 high-risk cases in the community. There are 211 known active cases now.

Hospitalizations in the region are up slightly with 27 patients admitted to local hospitals, there were 25 Monday.  There are two patients in the intensive care unit.

Active outbreaks continue to go down. The health unit is now monitoring five outbreaks, two at long-term care homes and three at community congregate settings.
