It's a sign that warmer weather is on the way.
The Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market opened on Saturday for its seventh season on Pelissier Street and Maiden Lane.
More than 60 produce, food, and artisanal vendors signed on for the entire season this year, along with a few occasional ones.
"It's what we consider the welcome gateway to the spring and summer season," said manager Steve Green. "The market was a much-loved event before the pandemic and was a symbol of hope and recovery over the past two years."
This year, the market starts four weeks early. The season runs from April 2 to December 10, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Market organizers announced last December they were extending the season from 33 weeks to 37 weeks in 2022.
