Shooting leads to attempted murder charge

A Windsor man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in his home last week.

Around 2:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, officers responded to a complaint that a man was knocking loudly at a residence on Albert Road. When officers arrived, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After an investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Ronald Travis. Police say he is the roommate of the victim.

Later in the week, officers working at the Canada Day parade saw Travis and a woman wanted in connection with the shooting. Both were arrested on Glengarry Avenue.

Travis is facing charges of attempted murder, possessing a firearm, and breach of probation.

The 45-year-old woman is facing charges of obstructing justice.
