Ontario Provincial Police have arrested three people following an alleged impaired driving crash in Tecumseh.
Officers and paramedics were called shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of Lesperance Road and Lanoue Street. When speaking with one of the drivers, the officers suspected the driver was impaired.
Two breath samples were then taken, and it was confirmed that the driver was indeed over the legal limit, according to Constable Steven Duguay.
The driver, a 22-year-old Lakeshore man, has been charged with driving while impaired and driving with over 80 milligrams in blood-alcohol concentration. The driver was released from custody and will have a chance to defend himself on the charge with a date set for August 12 in a Windsor court.
The OPP say two passengers from the vehicle tried to interfere with the arrest. Those passengers, a 22-year-old Lakeshore man and a 21-year-old Sarnia woman, have been charged with obstructing a peace officer.
Both passengers have been released with a court date yet to be scheduled.
