Windsor police's Amherstburg detachment is asking the public for help in identifying a person who allegedly harassed a young female.
Officers responded to a call Monday afternoon for a report of a female being followed by an adult male between 4:40 p.m. and 5 p.m. The person was first seen near Sandwich Street and Richmond Street.
The youth told police that she spotted a man driving his pickup truck slowly behind her. The truck was then seen turning off on a side street, possibly Wolfe Street, and parked. The driver then got out and began following the female on foot. The female then ran until she lost sight of the suspect.
The vehicle is described as an older model blue Chevy Silverado with black rims and plenty of rust, according to Constable Talya Natyshak.
The suspect is a White male in his 40s, tall with a thin build. He was clean-shaven with buzzed grey hair and wore glasses, a burgundy shirt and blue shorts.
Police are asking anyone in the area with security, doorbell, or dash camera footage to check it for anything unusual. Specifically, anyone within a one-kilometre radius is asked to check cameras as it is not known which way the suspect may have left the area or from where the man may have been coming.
