Charges laid after vehicle hits hydro pole in LaSalle

Police officers in LaSalle have charged the driver of a vehicle involved in a crash at Malden Road and Sprucewood Avenue on Monday night.

The vehicle smashed into a utility pole.

Police said the vehicle was demolished, but the driver was not seriously hurt.

However, testing revealed the driver had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time.

The driver's license is now suspended for 90 days. If he is convicted, he could be fined $1,500 and imprisoned. A first offence also includes a prohibition from driving for one to three years.
