Windsor is looking for firefighters

Have you ever dreamed of being a firefighter? Now is your chance to apply.

The City of Windsor is accepting applications on its website until noon on Wednesday, July 27.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services has eight positions to fill, but the city's Executive Director of Human Resources Vincenza Mihalo said there could be more depending on future retirements in the fire department.

Mihalo said the city will hire the firefighters in February 2023.

Applicants need to be 18 years or older, possess a high school diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalent, and have a valid Class "D" driver's license with a "Z" endorsement.

The City of Windsor only accepts applications for firefighters online. Applicants who do not have a valid email address can visit the Human Resources Department at 400 City Hall Square East, Suite 408.
