McKenzie seeking re-election in Ward 9

City of Windsor Ward 9 Councillor Kieran McKenzie is joining the ranks of councillors seeking re-election.

McKenzie has served one term on Windsor City Council since he was elected in 2018.

He says he campaigned on getting more community resources in Ward 9 and there has been some movement.

"The Windsor Public Library announced that they are going to conduct a feasibility study for a library and a library concept that would be connected in some respects to the Devonwood Conservation Area, so that process is moving forward," said McKenzie. "There's also been ongoing discussions about being able to provide recreational services, not a community centre per say that would be owned by the city, but maybe some sort of a partnership that is something that the pieces of are being put together as we speak."

McKenzie said he is also proud of the community safety initiatives and climate change advocacy he has been a part of over the last four years.

Harinder Cheema is also running for the Ward 9 seat.

Fabio Costante, Jeewen Gill, Gary Kaschak, and Jim Morrison are all seeking re-election in their respective wards. Ward 4 Councillor Chris Holt is running for the position of mayor.

The last day to file nomination papers to run in the election is August 19, 2022. Election day is October 24, 2022.
