Leamington library closed due to flooding

The Leamington branch of the Essex County Library is closed Friday due to flooding caused by the significant rain over the last day.

The extent of the damage is unknown at this time.

"There is quite a bit of water covering the floor, again I've only seen one photo of one area, but it looks to be low-level water through at least a portion of the branch," said Interim CEO and Chief Librarian Kristie Cronin.

It's not clear how long the library will need to be closed. Updates will be made to the Essex County library's website and social media pages when they become available.

The public can still access any of the library’s other branches and peruse the catalogue online.
