Windsor police investigating report of sexual assault

Windsor police are investigating after a woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by a stranger while inside her home.

The incident reportedly happened early Friday morning at around 3 a.m. police say.

Officers were called to a residence on Russell Street between Brock and Mill streets after a female victim reported that an unknown man entered her home and sexually assaulted her, before taking off from the scene.

Police believe the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door.

Investigators have released photos of a possible suspect obtained from nearby security footage. Police are asking anyone with home surveillance who lives near the area, to check their recordings from around 3 a.m. for possible evidence.
