Two arrested after Windsor raid seizes $54K in drugs

An investigation by Windsor police has resulted in thousands of dollars worth of illicit drugs being removed from the streets.

The Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit began an investigation last month into the possible selling of narcotics. During the probe, investigators uncovered two suspects and a home believed to be connected to the operation.

The DIGS Unit, joined by officers from the Emergency Services Unit, executed a search warrant Wednesday on the home, located on College Avenue near Bridge Avenue. Two suspects were arrested, according to Constable Talya Natyshak.

Police seized cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and five varieties of fentanyl, with a total street value of $54,390.

A 44-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, both from Windsor, are each charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell. Also, the male is charged with failure to comply with a release order. The charges have not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4361. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
