UPDATE: Eastbound Hwy. 401 reopens after crash

The eastbound lanes of Highway 410 between Belle River Road and French Line Road have been reopened after multiple crashes earlier this morning.

OPP Constable Steven Duguay said the first collision was near French Line. A tractor-trailer hit an overhead sign. The sign damaged another passenger vehicle as it fell.

There were no injuries to either driver.

The 47-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with careless driving.

After the first collision traffic in the eastbound lanes had slowed and stopped. In the traffic, a separate tractor-trailer hit another tractor-trailer from behind. One driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A 34-year-old from Brampton was charged with careless driving in the second collision.

The road was closed for around five hours while crews cleaned up the highway.
