An Essex resident will try walking for a while after being charged with impaired driving.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Essex Detachment responded to a report Sunday afternoon about a driver who had just been refused service at the LCBO outlet in Harrow.
Constable Steven Duguay said officers caught up with the vehicle on Erie Road in Harrow. After speaking to the driver, officers determined that the driver had been drinking and showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and brought to the detachment for further screening.
The 46-year-old is charged with operating while impaired and operating with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.
The driver was released pending a court date of September 21 in Windsor, but only after being issued a 90-day driver's licence suspension and a seven-day impoundment of the vehicle.
The charges have not been proven in court.
