Suspect sought in stabbing near Windsor City Hall

Windsor police are asking the public for assistance in finding a suspect in an overnight stabbing near City Hall.

Officers were called around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday to the area of McDougall Street and University Avenue East, and found a 37-year-old woman with apparent stab wounds.

The victim told police that a female wielding a knife approached her outside her home. The suspect chased the victim into her home and stabbed her before fleeing. The victim was sent to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a White female, heavyset, with blonde hair.

The Major Crimes Unit has asked residents and business owners in the area of University Avenue East and McDougall Street, and University Avenue East and Glengarry Avenue, to check any security cameras for footage between the hours of 11 p.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday.
