The deadline is approaching for elementary students to participate in The One of the Kind - Acts of Kindness Program.
Through this initiative, small grants up to $50 are provided to children to perform an act of kindness in their school or community.
"It is designed to educate and engage youth about the power of acts of kindness and how kind acts and gestures, no matter how small, can positively impact the giver, the receiver, and the community," said a statement from Linda Morrow, chair of the One of the Kind Committee.
Applications are being accepted until March 31.
To qualify, the applicant must team up with at least two other students to decide what act of kindness they would like to do. The application form must be submitted via email and has to be signed by a school staff member.
After the fact, the students will complete a report about their experience, including what they did, how it felt, and what they learned in the process. Upon completion of the project, the group will be presented a One of the Kind Certificate to recognize their efforts.
This is the third year the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland has offered this opportunity.
