Final suspect arrested in violent Windsor robbery

Windsor police say they have arrested the final suspect in a downtown assault that put the victim in hospital.

Investigators say 52-year-old William James Deans was arrested Wednesday night on Glengarry Avenue near Assumption Street, not far from where the February 6 attack took place.

Deans was the last outstanding suspect in a vicious home invasion. He has been charged with aggravated assault with an offensive weapon, two counts of robbery, uttering death threats, and failure to comply with a release order.

A total of five people were allegedly involved in the assault, and police say all have been charged and accounted for.

Police claim the group broke into a residence and beat a man with a metal object, resulting in serious injuries. Two other people at the location were robbed.
