The Municipality of Lakeshore has offered residents in rural areas an option for having storm debris removed.
These residents may arrange a pickup of any branches or stumps damaged in last week's ice storm, by going to the "Report a Problem" page on the Municipality's official website and selecting the "tree branch removal" option.
Crews will take the information and include it in the Municipality's scheduled debris pickup, which will take place between Saturday, March 4, and Friday, March 10.
Residents are asked to safely arrange any fallen branches curbside no later than Friday, and make sure they do not obstruct the road, sidewalk, or driveway. Only fallen branches will be picked up. Yard waste will not be. Do not bundle any branches together as crews will use woodchippers.
Branches that are too small to be chipped may be put aside and placed with yard waste, to be removed when yard waste pickup resumes in April.
Residents living in previously-announced urban centres do not have to pre-arrange a pickup. They are north of County Road 42, from County Road 19 to County Road 22 to the east limit of Belle River; north and south Woodslee, Staples, Ruscom, St. Joachim, Stoney Point, Comber, Lighthouse Cove, and shoreline areas along the north shore.
If you need help completing the online form, you may call the Public Service Unit at (519) 728-2700, ext. 0, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
