Residents hoping for a summer getaway will have more options if they fly out of Windsor International Airport (YQG).
WestJet Airlines announced this week that it will offer up to seven flights per week to Calgary starting June 15.
"Providing our guests with even more opportunity to travel across our network this summer comes as a result of a thoughtfully designed schedule that balances the high demand for travel alongside a reliable and resilient operation," said WestJet Group Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill. "With more seats available for booking and added capacity on popular routes, our summer schedule reflects a strengthened commitment to providing seamless domestic and trans-border connectivity for our guests."
With air travel across North America rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic, WestJet plans to offer over 600 daily flights during peak times.
WestJet is the latest Canadian carrier to announce additional flights to and from Windsor. Last month, Flair Airlines announced it will begin a two-flight-per-week schedule from YQG to Vancouver, starting June 10.
The airline currently flies to 110 destinations in 24 countries.
