E.L.K. Energy enters new management agreement with Entegrus

E.L.K. Energy Inc. has signed a management services agreement with Entegrus Inc.

“The board is committed to being responsive to community needs and finding a solution for the Town of Essex and the customers E.L.K. serves,” said Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy, Chair of the E.L.K. Board of Directors. “Entegrus brings a vast level of experience and, together with E.L.K. employees, the contract promises to move E.L.K. in a positive direction through improved levels of customer service and asset management.”

The Town of Essex is the primary shareholder of the utility company. The Municipality of Lakeshore and the Town of Kingsville are also shareholders. Residents in all three municipalities have complained about frequent power outages for years.

The board decided to engage with a separate utility partner after the retirement of long-time CEO Mike Audet. The management services agreement will begin immediately.

“Entegrus operates with strong values that guide us to be a safe, sustainable, customer- and community-focused utility,” stated Jim Hogan, president and CEO of Entegrus Inc. “The combined expertise and dedication of both the E.L.K. and Entegrus employees will ensure customers and communities benefit from increased resources, knowledge and industry experience.”

E.L.K. is currently undergoing a strategic review.
