A LaSalle man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Service.
The Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation in April 2022 after getting a tip that a person was sharing child sexual abuse material online. Three months later, a second investigation began for a similar offence.
Both investigations led police to the same address in LaSalle.
On March 9, Windsor police executed a search warrant with the help of the LaSalle Police Service. During the search, officers seized several firearms, including an assault rifle, and quantities of ammunition. They also recovered computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices.
After the search, a 24-year-old turned himself into the Windsor police headquarters. He is facing charges of possession of child pornography, unsafe storage of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a prohibited weapon without a license.
