The Essex Region Conservation Authority will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area Tuesday.
The goal of the controlled burn is to protect and enhance biodiversity in the tallgrass prairie ecosystem.
The burn will happen on approximately 12 acres of tallgrass prairie grassland. Ignition will begin around 12 p.m. and the entire process is expected to take around three hours.
Neighbours have been notified they may see and smell smoke in the area.
