LaSalle police investigating deliberately set fire

LaSalle police are looking for information on a suspicious fire in January.

The blaze started in the early morning of January 29, 2023, on Reaume Road near Matchette Road. The house was destroyed and had to be demolished. No injuries were reported.

The LaSalle Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit believes the fire was intentionally set after reviewing some surveillance video. On the video a person in a light-coloured jacket was seen exiting a mini-van and entering the property shortly before the fire was reported.

Police are working to gather further evidence and are asking the public to come forward with any information or video surveillance that may assist in this investigation including identifying the person responsible for setting the fire.
