A new investment in the Magna plant in Windsor will create around 110 jobs at the facility.
The company recently announced plans to invest $6-million into its Windsor facility on Twin Oaks Drive.
"We're in production launch and we have items in disclosure that we can't reveal at this point in time. But we are very excited about the new product that will be coming to Windsor modules and the region and excited that it is going to create 110 job opportunities," said General Manager Brian Alexander.
Alexander could not disclose exactly what is being produced but said it is an automotive component.
Production will begin in November of 2023.
"There will be no facility expansion, everything will be contained within these walls. This facility will essentially become a full manufacturing facility," said Alexander.
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says it is significant that the company with facilities all over the world decided to manufacture this product here.
"Magna has strong roots around the world, they're good at what they do and being able to add to that compliment here in the city of Windsor is a strong sign that they want to be part of the success that is happening here in our community," said Dilkens.
