OLG launches process for new casino operator

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has launched the first stage of the process to select a new service provider for the Windsor casino.

The corporation has released a request for pre-qualification.

“Releasing the RFPQ for the Windsor casino is the first step in selecting a highly qualified service provider that will ensure the long-term competitiveness of the site while continuing to generate economic benefits for the local community and for Ontario,” said

This is the first stage of the procurement process. Those that prequalify will be able to proceed to the request for proposal phase. During the RFP phase, prequalified proponents will receive documents that outline the opportunity in Windsor and the information required to submit a detailed proposal.

Caesars Entertainment contract was extended last year until August 2025. OLG has the option to further extend the term for another six to 12 months.

The current operator has the option to participate in the new procurement process.

The RFPQ process will close on May 25, 2023.
