The Municipality of Leamington is giving drivers a heads-up that it installed bollards on Robson Road along its waterfront.
The municipality has had a lot of complaints from residents about speeding along the waterfront.
A series of three flexible bollards placed at the sides and centre of the road narrows Robson Road, forcing drivers to slow down. The bollards are three meters apart and will be removed before winter.
Leamington's council approved the measures last August when it also signed off on an all-way stop at the intersection of Cherry Lane and Robson Road.
The bollards are temporary until the municipality installs permanent traffic-calming measures outlined in its Waterfront Destination Master Plan.
Eventually, it will introduce on-street parking and reconstruct the south side of Robson Road. Work on that project is expected to start in the summer of 2024.
Later this year, the entrance to the Leamington Marina will move to the east of the parking lot and opposite Cherry Lane so boaters have better access to the marina.
