The Canadian Border Service Agency seized 60 bricks of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck at the Ambassador Bridge.
The vehicle attempted to enter Canada on April 17 and was referred to secondary examination. During the inspection, officers found 60 bricks of suspected cocaine weighing about 60 kilograms.
“This is exemplary work by our team of dedicated CBSA officers in the Southern Ontario Region. The excellent working partnership we have with the RCMP is a great benefit in fighting organized smuggling efforts and protecting our communities.,” said Joseph Chayeski, director of Ambassador Bridge district operations.
A 40-year-old from Paris, Ontario, has been charged with importing cocaine and possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
