The Windsor Police Service has launched a new program to help connect victims of crime to community services.
The WPS C.A.R.E.S., or Windsor Police Service Community Accessible Resource Education Support program, produced videos with community partners to spread awareness about what services are available.
"We want to educate people and get the information out there. In order to make changes or to see changes we want them to know and understand that there is a difference out there and there is a brighter future, to reach out and just ask for help," said Staff Sergeant Patti Pastorius.
All of the videos have been uploaded to YouTube and shared through social media channels.
"If there's a community partner that already has a finished video, reach out to me. I would love to be able to put it on the site because, again, we are just the hub," said Pastorius.
The Windsor Police Service received a $100,000 grant from the provincial government for the project.
Funds were also directed to create a private space in police headquarters for officers to share this information.
