She's 112-years-old, but the Spirit of Windsor is getting a facelift that should make her look almost brand new.
Crews from the City of Windsor have been painting the Pacific Type 4-6-2 steam locomotive in Dieppe Park for the past week as efforts to furbish it continue.
The locomotive was retired more than 60 years ago after serving in the Canadian National Railway fleet.
In 1962, Windsor's chapter of the Historic Vehicle Society of Ontario campaigned to save #5588 from the scrap heap and bring it to the city.
She was christened the "Spirit of Windsor" on May 6, 1965.
Fracas Painting hopes to finish the work at the end of June.
