Transit Windsor is offering service for special events in Detroit.
Special event service will take riders to and from events at Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena or Ford Field. Round-trip tickets are $15 per person.
"It will be limited. There are certain events that are just very difficult for us to service because they occur during peak service times. [For example,] three o'clock in the afternoon, four in the afternoon on a weekday when we have all of our resources, the majority of them, committed to providing service here," said Tyson Cragg, executive director of Transit Windsor.
All events will be listed on the special events bus service reservation page.
All trips must be booked in advance online.
To date, service is being offered to three Detroit Tigers' games this week.
"What we intend to do is have the events about a month to two months out, so somewhere between 30 and 60 days. The reason why there's only the three events on there right now is because of the Grand Prix," said Cragg.
There will be no special event service for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. The regular Tunnel Bus will be operating a short-turn route to Mariner’s Church only.
Once road closures for the Grand Prix are ended, more special events will be added to the Transit Windsor reservation page.
