Seniors ride the city bus for a buck

Transit Windsor is celebrating Seniors Month with a week of cheap rides for seniors.

Starting Sunday, June 4, those over 60 can ride any Transit Windsor bus for a loonie, except the Tunnel Bus.

The promotion ends on Saturday, June 10.

"We see this as an opportunity to recognize our regular senior riders, but also to encourage other seniors to explore public transit as an option for their mobility needs," said Executive Director Tyson Cragg.

Seniors will have to show identification proving their age if asked.

Canada's senior population is expected to grow from 4 million in 2016 to 10 million by 2036.
