Jodi Nesbitt and her granddaughter Lily will see Taylor Swift in concert in Detroit after all.

The Windsor woman went public earlier this week after she was scammed out of $800.

Nesbitt is the President of Unifor Local 240, which represents workers at Windsor Salt who have been on strike since February 17. It's been a difficult couple of months, and she was looking forward to a fun night.

When a Facebook friend said they had tickets to the show, she thought she was in luck. Unfortunately, the account had been hacked, and Nesbitt was messaging back and forth with a scammer.

Stung by the experience, Nesbitt went on Country Mornings With Morgan to warn others.

"If you don't know them well enough, just assume it's a scam," she told other listeners to County 95.9 FM.

She recommended confirming the other person's identity before the money is exchanged by getting their phone number and asking them questions only they could answer.

On Thursday, Nesbitt got a call back from Morgan Ryan, the host of the morning show, who thanked her for speaking out.

"It would be so nice to wrap this up with Taylor Swift tickets -- and Windsor's Country has Taylor Swift tickets for you," said Ryan.

"That's amazing!" responded Nesbitt, who quickly put her granddaughter on the phone. "She's jumping up and down!"

Meanwhile, the scam is still taking in others. Nesbitt said other Facebook users had messaged her the ad remains on the platform despite numerous complaints.

As for downtown Detroit, Ford Field and Detroit police are preparing for a very busy weekend. In addition to the Taylor Swift concerts, the Tigers are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks at Comerica Park, and there are events at the Fillmore Theatre and St. Andrew's Hall. Ford Field has issued a statement saying that if you don't have tickets to the concert, don't come down.

"Fans without tickets to the concert are strongly discouraged from gathering outside the stadium this weekend," read the advisory, posted on the stadium's Twitter page. "Ford Field is an enclosed stadium in the middle of Downtown Detroit. All of our surrounding parking lots will be at maximum capacity due to our Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concerts and Detroit Tigers games at Comerica Park on Friday night and Saturday. There isn't a place for fans to gather."
