Police arrest suspect in downtown stabbing

A 48-year-old is facing charges after a stabbing on Glengarry Avenue Monday evening.

Police were called to the area of Glengarry Avenue and University Avenue East around 7:30 p.m. Officers found a man who had been stabbed during an altercation. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators identified the suspect and found him at his home around 8:30 p.m. After brief negotiations, the 48-year-old was arrested.

He was charged with assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a release order.
