The tourism industry in Windsor-Essex is continuing to rebound after the pandemic.
Currently, hotel occupancy is sitting at almost 62 per cent, about 19 per cent points higher than in 2022.
"People are starting to visit again and people are starting to attend our community festivals and events, our hotel occupancy is up, people are interested on socials, so there's a renewed interest to come back and to do tourism," said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.
Orr says this is the first time in three years they are focusing on outside of the region instead of "stay-cations"
At its annual general meeting, the organization launched a new marketing campaign WE GO Together. The campaign focuses on pairing experiences throughout the region.
"We're not one singular sort of attraction or icon, what we are is a multitude of things. We've got plenty of reasons why you would want to visit. When you pair things together it helps people identify that, it helps them put together an itinerary in their mind," said Orr.
