Leamington gearing up for Canada Day party

The Municipality of Leamington will use music and fireworks to celebrate Canada's 156th birthday.

Leamington announced its plans for Saturday, July 1, with two musical acts set to perform at the SUNSET® Amphitheatre.

First up at 7:30 p.m. will be the Walkerville Collegiate WCCA Rock Band. The group is an octet made up of students in grades 9 to 12, playing a variety of musical genres. Following that performance, at 8:30 p.m., the Almost Famous Band will take the stage. The quartet from Kingsville will perform a set consisting of sing-along songs plus a unique brand of fun song mashups.

The evening will be capped with a fireworks display over Lake Erie, starting at approximately 10 p.m.

The party is free of charge and open to everyone. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the Kinsmen Kanteen.

The LTGO on-demand transit system will run until 11 p.m. on July 1, to help visitors get to and from the event safely and without the traffic.

Complete information about Leamington's events can be found on the Municipality's official website.
