Windsor man accused of making lewd comments towards children

Windsor police have charged a man accused of sexually harassing a group of minors late last week.

According to investigators, the incident happened early Thursday morning when police received a call at around 8:50 a.m. about a suspicious person.

A 13-year-old girl and her two younger siblings were walking to school when they were approached by an unknown man in the area of Ouellette Avenue between Ellis and Shepherd streets. The accused, described as a white male, allegedly followed the group of children and made inappropriate sexual comments towards the oldest sibling, causing her and her two siblings to be scared and uncomfortable.

None of the children were physically assaulted or harmed during the interaction, police said.

Through an investigation, police have since identified and charged a 64-year-old man. The accused was arrested at around noon Saturday in the area of Pelissier Street and Shepherd Street West.

He has been charged with one count of criminal harassment.
