Motown diva Diana Ross to play Caesars Windsor

Windsor concertgoers will have a chance to see a living legend take the stage.

Caesars Windsor announced Monday afternoon that Motown legend Diana Ross will play the Colosseum on Friday, September 8.

The Detroit-born Ross rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most successful women in entertainment, first with The Supremes, then as a solo act. She is also an acclaimed actor.

While lead singer of The Supremes, the group scored 12 number-one hits in the U.S. alone, including "Can't Hurry Love", "Baby Love", I Hear a Symphony", and "Someday We'll Be Together".

Ross left the group in 1970 to pursue a successful solo career, which brought forth six more U.S. number-one hits, including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "Upside Down", "Do You Know Where You're Going To?", and "I'm Coming Out". Her over 75 hit singles in the U.S. and the U.K. have earned her a place in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most charted hits of any female artist.

Recently, Ross drew the biggest TV audience for a British music festival when she headlined the Glastonbury Festival in England.

Ross has won two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and a Tony Award. She also won a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for her work as Billie Holliday in the 1972 film "Lady Sings the Blues".

Caesars Rewards members can purchase tickets to the September 8 show during a pre-sale on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets to the general public are available at 10 a.m. Friday.

Ticket purchases can be made through the Caesars Windsor website or Ticketmaster. The box office is open Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on show days from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
