Canada Day activities planned in Lakeshore

Organizers plan an afternoon of family-friendly activities and multicultural performances, including a community barbecue, pony rides, a craft station and mini golf.

Performances include a dog show by the Border City Barkers and teaching and smudging by Caldwell First Nation members.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue will mist the crowd to keep them cool in the summer heat.

The party concludes with a live concert by Crack the Whip starting at 5 p.m.

For Tecumseh residents, Town Hall and all municipal departments will be closed Friday to observe the Canada Day holiday. Tecumseh Arena will be open for previously-scheduled activities but the recreation office will be closed.

Municipal offices are also closed Friday in Amherstburg.
