73-year-old truck driver takes home second prize in lottery

The region has another big lottery winner.

William Mcneil won the second prize in the July 5 LOTTO 6-49 draw.

"Recently, I've been playing LOTTO 6-49, LOTTO MAX and POKER LOTTO," said the regular player while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Mcneil has won smaller prizes, but nothing like his $132,358 windfall earlier this month.

The 73-year-old truck driver was having his morning coffee when he checked his lottery tickets but didn't know how much he won until he verified it at the convenience store after work.

When the father and grandfather shared the news with his family, his daughter thought he was the victim of a prank.

"It took some time to process my win as I continued my work week," said Mcneil.

He plans to invest his winnings, share some with his kids, and plan his future.

Mcneil bought his ticket at the Mac's on Wyandotte Street East.
