Four arrested following a series of LaSalle thefts

Police in LaSalle say four people have been charged after items were taken from vehicles.

Officers were called around 2 a.m. Tuesday about four people seen entering parked vehicles in the area of Grondin Street and Carnegie Avenue. When police arrived at the location, they found several items and identification pieces strewn around, which suggested that the items were taken from the vehicles.

The four males, two 18-year-old men, and two youths, were soon found with items on them. They were arrested without incident.

It turned out that the vehicles affected were parked in an area bounded by Reaume Road and Superior Avenue, and from Mayfair Avenue to Front Road.

The charges against the four males include theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000.00, trespassing, breach of recognizance, failure to comply with an undertaking, and failure to comply with a release order. One of the 18-year-olds also had an outstanding warrant.

Police say they had received at least seven theft reports, and the investigation is ongoing. If you were affected, or have additional information, call LaSalle police at (519) 969-5210. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
