Citizen blocks in suspect's pickup truck for OPP

A good Samaritan who blocked the vehicle of a suspected impaired driver gets the credit for the arrest of a Windsor man.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called to a business on Rourke Line Road in Lakeshore on July 28 after a man was caught on video breaking into a vending machine.

A few hours later, dispatch sent officers to Talbot Street North in Essex, where another driver had blocked in a red pickup truck that fit the description of the vehicle used in the theft.

The driver didn't cooperate with the officers and became combative.

A Windsor man was arrested and now faces charges, including impaired driving, resisting a peace officer, mischief, and theft under $5,000.

The 28-year-old's license was suspended for 90 days while his pickup truck was impounded for a week.
